The main objectives of the project were to:
expand student's understanding and knowledge of the European Dimension of education
Over 90% of the students reported that they had expanded their understanding and knowledge of the being a European citizen, whilst almost all pupils expanded their understanding and knowledge of the different education systems and culture of the host country.
develop an interest of studying foreign languages
All the Italian students said their language competencies had improved, as did those from the UK who are currently studying German or Spanish.
develop an interest in science, math and ICT and expand transversal skills
All UK students stated that their knowledge of extraction of essential oils had increased; whilst only a third of Italian pupils agreed. Half of the students felt their ICT skills had increased by participating in the project.
increase student's awareness of lifelong learning
Half of the students repsonded that they were motivated to study sciences further.
offer the possibility for a mobility to another European country and exprerience its culture first hand
All the pupils involved said they would encourage others to particpate in any future similar project.
improve the chances of future employability of the young students
Almost 95% of the students reported they had gained confidence in their own ability by participating in this project; they rest stated that they already were confident! Almost 95% felt that their ability to establish a working relationship with peers and other adults had improved as well.
