Italian Teachers Visit The UK
Before the UK mobility to Italy, a science and a English teacher from Galileo Galilei visited Copley Academy.
During their stay, they taught the participants some basic Italian, such as greetings, food, numbers and time.

UK Teachers Visit Italy
Before the two mobilities in 2016, an English teacher (Mr Rees) and a Computing teacher (Mr Aitken) from Copley Academy visited Galileo Galilei.
During their week-long visit, they supported in lessons, speaking to the pupils in English to strengthen their speaking and listening skills. In the English lessons, the pupils were taught about the local Tameside area and what makes the North-West of England so good and were told what to expect during their visit. Within the computing lessons, the pupils were taught to program using App Inventor and got the opportunity to take apart a laptop and display it on a board with Italian and English labels for the different parts. Students were also introduces to online safety and how this affects everyone. |
During the second cycle, a maths teacher (Mrs Harding) and a Computing teacher (Mr Aitken) from Copley Academy visited Galileo Galilei. They enriched the Italian children's current curriculum by discussing clothing and roleplaying purchasing items from shops. They worked on listening to their friends describe themselves. Positive digital footprint was also discussed after looking at safety settings of each others accounts.
